Today’s technology has taken education to a whole new level that it is now called MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) learning. The state of the art tech where you can pick work and notes up from your phone, tablet, Mac and PC and submit assignments to any part of the world is amazing. You could take a course from any part of the world. Let’s look at some possible reasons why online education has been taken by storm. The markets have shifted, interest rates have dropped, prices have risen and fallen but the one steady area that has been on the incline is demand in quality education. Online learning once upon called correspondence or distance llearning has been around for a long time – since the advent of mail. It's technology that makes this world a small place.
Online education is far cheaper than registering in a brick and mortar university. This is due to the overheads, tutors, lecturers etc that needs to be paid for. Online tutors can serve a higher ratio of pupils as they are not going to be bombarded with questions at one go. But will online education replace a brick and mortar university? Whilst I doubt it in the really near future, the society is pointing in that direction and in under few years I believe that most courses will be done completely online.
Self-Directed Study Pace
Self-directed Study pace means you can spend as much or as little time as you want on a certain topic. For instance, if you can understand a particular topic really well, then you can just skim through it and spend more time on something you find hard to grasp. And you can always refer back to your online tutor for more information of course. You are totally in charge of your study
With studying online with us, there’s no need to worry about leaving work and rushing to make it to lectures and tutorials. There are always schedules and class formats available for you to join. If you’ve already got a busy life with work and family a standard university program would not help you achieve your goals – it’s going to discourage you further. Online classes, help you achieve your goals and dreams by the convenience of being able to do it at your time and convenience.
Save time and money on commuting. Studying on line saves you heaps of time and money on commuting. Are you a stay home mum? You can upgrade your skills whilst looking after your kids w/out commuting. What about a stay home dad? He could keep up and upskill in his field too. Online learning has opened up a world of resources which were not available previously. Think about the carbon footprint saved from not commuting to the brick and mortar university.
Family Comes First.
Someone’s got to cook, the dog has to be walked, the baby has to be bathed, the chores need to be done. With online studies, you can fit your studies around all of these. You could study when the baby is happy her afternoon nap, or when hubby has come home and taken over the kids. Or if hubby is the one studying, he could come home from work have a play with the kids and after a wind down, go off to study. The flexibility that comes with online study is so amazing.
Last but not least – Find your right job. If you were studying full time in a brick and mortar university, you probably realize that there will be no way that you would be able to keep you job, attend you lectures, tutorials and manage your family life – something has got to give and chances are it will be your studies. Isn’t that sad? Don't quit your day job. Keep your job, your loved ones and upskill at your own pace with minimum stress to your family and loved ones.
I encourage everyone of you to go through the courses we offer and enroll in a course you like. Or contact us via email or our contact us form should you need any form of help or have any queries. We will be more than happy to clarify any doubts you have. Upskilling is the best thing you can do for yourself no matter what age or industry you work in. It’s never too late to study something else. KFC's founder started his franchise biz at the age of 75. Keep learning. There is never an end to learning.
